A Week for the Birds

February 28-March 6

Monday, February 29
Happy Leap Day
(Or Leap-Out-Of-Bed Day.)

The Robins,

And European Starlings have been filling the yard.

Tuesday, March 1
We woke up to this notice from our monthly newspaper publisher.  (Who will undoubtedly blossom into an amazing speller.)

Thursday, March 3
The Red-winged Blackbirds are back.  Let spring commence.

Friday, March 4
During a quick snow, all of the birds came to visit.

 (Feisty Dark-eyed Juncos.)

By the afternoon the snow was gone.

And Nana and Pop came with gifts for T's birthday.  (And with snow gear packed for one more skiing weekend.  +Warm-weather wear, because from skiing they headed straight to a tropical island.)

Saturday, March 5
We woke up early to look for snow on the slopes of Vermont.  (It was crazy how little snow there was--it was mostly just at the ski resorts.)

They spent the day at Okemo.

Sunday, March 6
Tired skiers ready for one more day of skiing at Stratton.

Nana and Pop so patiently worked on Beza's skiing skills.  She's looking good out there.

The question is--can we safely put away the snow boots?
