Or perhaps we're just a little early with some homegrown Halloween decorations?
This is what is growing right outside our front door.
A rogue stalk of corn.
(It was a weed that I just took a really long time pulling and then as it got bigger we realized that it's actually corn--from some birdseed maybe?)
And that lovely vine growing out of the bush? Why, that's vibrant and downright scary poison ivy.
Oh, and on top of all of that, we have a yard full of hundreds--HUNDREDS--of cicada killer wasps.
(Though their man-thumb-size is definitely intimidating, thankfully they're mostly harmless.)
J has taken to thwacking them with badminton rackets. (It's completely entertaining to watch someone swatting the air all by themselves in the back yard.)
So, yeah...we're the charming house with the front-door corn and lush poison ivy with a few hundred giant wasps just waiting to greet you. Welcome.
